SMS Terms & Conditions
Sun City Subs · last updated 2026-05-13
These Terms & Conditions, together with the privacy section below, govern your use of the Sun City Subs SMS notification program. By opting in, you agree to these terms.
Sun City Subs is a private scheduling tool used by fitness instructors at the Sun City Texas community to coordinate class substitutes. It is operated by the Sun City Texas fitness staff. These Terms & Conditions explain what text messages we send, when, and how to stop receiving them.
What text messages you may receive
If you are listed as an active instructor and opt in to SMS notifications, you may receive the following types of automated SMS messages from Sun City Subs:
- Sub-needed alerts — when another instructor needs a substitute for one of their classes.
- Sub-claimed and cancellation confirmations — when someone claims a class you posted, a sub falls through, or a request is cancelled.
- Pre-class reminders — the night before, and optionally a couple of hours before, a class you are covering.
- Schedule-change notices — if a class you are covering is changed by an admin.
One-time login or signup verification codes may be sent separately to confirm your identity. Those codes do not enroll you in optional class notification texts.
How you opt in
You opt in to class notification texts by checking the optional "send me Sun City Subs class notification texts" box during signup, or later from the My Notifications page. The checkbox is unchecked by default. A public preview of the invite-only signup opt-in language is available at suncitysubs.org/sms-opt-in.
You can sign up and use Sun City Subs without opting in to SMS notifications. If you do not opt in, SMS notification settings start off and you can use email notifications instead. Consent to receive SMS is not a condition of joining or using Sun City Subs.
Message frequency
Frequency varies with the schedule, but is typically fewer than 10 messages per week per instructor.
Message and data rates
Message and data rates may apply. Sun City Subs does not charge for messages, but your mobile carrier's standard text-messaging and data rates apply.
How to stop receiving messages (opt out)
You can stop receiving messages at any time by replying STOP to any text from Sun City Subs. You will receive a single confirmation message and then no further texts. Other accepted opt-out keywords: CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE, OPTOUT, STOPALL.
To resume messages after opting out, reply START or YES.
Help
Reply HELP or INFO to any Sun City Subs message for help, or contact the Sun City Subs admin at Csilla.Kollar@sctexas.org.
Privacy
We collect only the information needed to run the schedule: your name, phone number, and (optionally) email address. We use your phone number solely to send the SMS messages described above. We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number or any personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Mobile information (your phone number and the fact that you are an instructor on this team) is not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subprocessors is limited to delivery providers needed to send the messages — currently Twilio for SMS delivery and Twilio SendGrid for any optional email backup notifications.
You can ask the Sun City Subs admin to remove you from the instructor list at any time, which deletes your phone number and contact info from the system.
Carriers
Supported carriers include AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, Boost Mobile, MetroPCS, and most U.S. carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
